Nom de Guerre Spring 2010

I'm a fan of military influences. Nom de Guerre. The collection was inspired by "Rebellion," "Oppression," and the Algerian War.

Issey Miyake Fall 2010

A lot of colors and patterns in this collection. But I think these two pieces are the best. I like the sweater because it is definitely playful and a bit sarcastic. And the idea of the grey jacket: It's simple but interesting.

Alex Loomans by Sven Baenziger

Shots that make me want to Roam. The top pic is something you don't always find in men's fashion pages: bringing some shape and movement to the model's form.

Elisabeth Toll, post 2

Her work speaks to me like a movie. It's very cinematic. The setting in this picture is fantastic. It is the perfect composure for the clothing that is featured. I've posted on Elisabeth in the past, but I love this picture featuring PRADA. Thanks to FASHIONISTO for the pic and where you can see more of THE SHOOT.
The 3 sites below are places where you can see more of Toll's work.

Philip Sparks SS 2010

Philip Sparks has released his SS 2010 lookbook on his website. The inspiration for the Canadian designer this season was 50's era ads and leisure life. A lot of the stuff work well for a light hike or picnic. Very chill and comfortable. Using iconic inspiration is a plus. I mean, the sweaters above look classic. What I like about Sparks is that he takes his inspiration and runs with it. He did the same for his Fall collection inspired by a Russian story. Check out both lookbooks on Philip Sparks website.

PHOTOs by Mckenzie James. If you have never seen any of James' work, definitely check out his website. His work is full of mood and life.  Mckenzie James.COM

Yes. You must. But eyes and minds

Kwannam Chu in Japan

Photographer Kwannam Chu has taken a recent trip to Japan and posted this pic of samurai armor on his blog. Warrior Fashion from the past. Great colors. I would love to see a spread featuring some pieces like these. Evidently it is possible to rent pieces out. Chu is very fortunate to be in the greatest city in the world, Tokyo (and surrounding area). You can see more pics from his trip on his blog. He's visited Ebisu and Daikanyama, two of my favorite hoods in Tokyo. I hope Kwannam is working on a shoot that may be inspired by the trip. Can't wait to see it.

Karlota Laspalas: Wood Do Now Collection

Karlota Laspalas' Wood Do Now finds facination with the contemplation of life in the woods. A peasants life, but with meaning. The photo spread for the collection by photographer Salva Lopez sets the fashion in nature while the collection takes on a second life when displayed on the runway.

A/W Mens Vogue CHINA

Photographed by Yan Zhixiong

The BOOTS and the SWAY of the COAT. And the shadows give the look a nice curved effect.
