Model Nicolas Ripoll is featured in this short film by Jaime Rubiano and Jason Last entitled Mimetic Desire. Fashion+Art. Styling was by Jenke-Ahmed Tailly working with pieces from Dior Homme. I enjoy the film as it gives me the sense of what I sometimes feel as I take in works in a gallery: tension, escape, reflection, feeling of being lost within myself and the work--yet, strangely and acutely aware of the surroundings.

Making a statement with undergarments: why not? The story entitled Sheer Madness , photographed by Michael Franco and styled by Derric Lowe, shows how you might add some flare to your underwear--by adding a detachable strap as seen with the black Vizeau briefs, or by adding a religious artifact as with the Andrew Christian piece. See more of the shoot HERE on Fantasticsmag.

There is much that I enjoy in the latest Lanvin Fall/Winter 2011 collection. The suits with great sheen and fitted with boots are fantastic as are the structurally intriguing pieces such as the grey jacket (belted with high collar) and the grey asymmetrical sweater. There are nice jackets and coats throughout the collection. I'm also enjoying the idea of wearing a turtle neck collar under the standard dress collar. However, for good or for worse, the looks featuring hats, and many times with scarfs, gives me a heavy Quentin Crisp vibe. See more of the collection HERE on Homotography.

I'm enjoying the curved breast of this Miharayasuhiro coat--not to mention the extra block of color that has been added to the bottoms of many of the pants in the Fall 2011 collection. It just gives the look an extra dimension, built in. See more HERE on Style.com.

Agnes B offers some appealing pieces with their latest collection. My favorite look is below--the spirit of a tough or edgy dandy. Enjoying the leather pants, the print on the jacket, the bow-tie, even the off the shoulder cape. See more HERE on Fashionisto.
Boots-Denim-Layers: Balmain has infused their Fall/Winter 2011 collection with an extensive assortment of pieces that work to give a seemingly endless variety of looks--in the case of the styling: almost all the looks feature pants being fitted into the boots and an assortment of accessories. See more on Fashionisto.

The Mugler label is undergoing a mission of revival with the help of Nicola Formichetti. Besides the jackets and coat here, there are some pieces that could actually be worn to add a new dimension to a look--I'm enjoying the gloves with the thumbed-focus. See more HERE on Homotography and read more about the label's revival HERE on Hypebeast.

Z Zegna has a cool softness for their Fall/Winter 2011 collection but the pieces I enjoyed the most are below: The simplicity and cut of the black jacket and the just right volume--not too much--of the trench: not to mention its fantastic green coloring. See more from the collection HERE from Fashionisto.
I enjoy Dirk Bikkembergs' Sports Couture aesthetic as seen in his latest collection. Perfect for a Saturday or a power-trip to the gym. The turtleneck sweaters have great texture, the sweats look comfortable yet luxe, and you can dress it up and possibly go out for a drink with a jacket. Bikkembergs' show was very sleek, too--check it out on his website. See more of the looks on Homotography HERE.
Alexi Lubomirski shot this story of nature and isolation featuring Tyson Ballou for GQ Japan. I'm loving the idea of wondering around the cabin grounds--river, lake, forest--in my long-johns and un-laced boots. See more of the story HERE on YVY.

More from Milan: Emporio Armani Fall 2011 collection. What I'm enjoying: the Boots and Gloves--notice how both are extra high. The boots coming up past the knees and the gloves coming up the forearms. See more HERE on Larapixie

Burberry Prorsum just wrapped their show streamed live from Milan and these are the pieces I enjoyed the most. I particularly enjoyed the checked coats, the mink collar (detachable), the the sleek laminated wool trench. Check out all the looks HERE and see the runway video replaying HERE on Selectism.

More Trussardi--this time the Fall 2011 collection. All the leather...I'm not enjoying these pieces as a group as much as the Spring/Summer collection, but the luxuriously strong and romantic styling is there--that I enjoy. See more of the collection HERE on Fashionisto.
