the Versatility of a Shirt

From LittleFashionisto comes a work of pure utilitarian bliss: using your shirt as a pair of pants. I'm enjoying this because I don't believe I have seen this done before. I would like to see what the back of the "pants" look like--but I think the front, utilizing the collar with the suspenders is very clever. Great color story too. This is one more from Fiasco's current issue on decadence. Shot by Ivan Muselli, this story entitled "The Jar" features shorts and jacket by Albino Deuxieme. Fiasco "Decadence" Issue

Fiasco magazine has put forward THE PLAYFULLY DECADENT ISSUE HERE which features the work of photographer Vincent Nord in this spread entitled "United Colors of Decadence." What could be more decadent than wearing a shirt of micro-machine cars?--and paired with the crochet-like  sweater and belt its even more so. See more HERE on YVY.

I do enjoy David Delfin's work, including his "harness" concept as seen in this shoot by Jakob Axelman for Contributing Editor entitled Boys Club. I love the idea of incorporating something so unexpected into your look--not to mention that the harness concept is somewhat ingenious. See more HERE on CE.

MVIO by Sang Hyuk Han--A/W 11

From Seoul Fashion Week comes looks from the A/W collection of MVIO designed by Sang Hyuk Han. These are some of the pieces and looks I am enjoying the most--particularly the color blocked coat and sweater. The show also included an array of aprons like the one below with the idea of covering up what you don't want to show. But I want to see more of these pieces! Siki Im Fall/Winter 2011

I hesitated to post on Siki Im a couple weeks back when I first saw his collection, but the more I am confronted with these looks--at least these particular photos--the more I haven't been deterred from my initial reaction: these are such striking looks all around--from the tip-top of the feather on the hat and down. While the pieces in-and-of-themselves may be interesting, it is the combination and the overall look that I am fascinated by. I can't put my finger on it: it's a familiar edge. Could it simply be the hat? I just enjoy the oddity of it. It's been referred to as "American Gothic."  See more on VMan's list of best of NY fashion week HERE.
