Aziz Bekkaoui Fall/Winter 2014

This look is from the Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection by Aziz Bekkaoui. I don't post must about shorts, and in fact the shorts I typically like are quite short, but something about this length I enjoy; the placement of the hem right at the calf is great. Plus, I enjoy the use of lace stockings underneath the look, even on the hands and arms. See more from the collection HERE.

Valentim Quaresma Spring/Summer 2014

I want to feel confident, powerful, lux, and regal in a flash; I think any of the pieces from Valentim Quaresma Spring/Summer 2014 will do the trick. I want every piece in this collection. While the substantial pieces of jewelry are styled here on top of the torsos of fit models, I would love to see how the pieces work when styled with actual clothes, maybe floating on top of a black suit or something. Check out more of the collection HERE on FuckingYoung!

Jean Phillip Spring/Summer 2014

The Jean Phillip S/S 2014 collection is quite reptilian with rich, skin-like prints used to construct many of the pieces. The motif is also worked into pebble-looking, gold accents on several pieces. I enjoy the idea--something dark about reptiles, sand, but in contrast to the man wearing the reptilian inspired looks and pieces. Agi & Sam Spring/Summer 2014

Inspiration is all around us, even when traveling on a bus. Case in point: Agi and Sam Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Agi and Sam look toward (or should I say underneath their bums) the seemingly tacky--and oftentimes bizarre--prints one finds on the seats of buses. You know, those gas guzzling vehicles full of tourists and teens on fieldtrips. But the team take something overlooked and mundane, and turn it into very interesting, fashion forward pieces. Agi and Sam are also turning the bus-inspired prints into accessories. See more of the collection HERE on Fashionisto and some of the accessories HERE on Selectism.

"Cool Cat:" August Man Magazine

I enjoy using accessories in new and creative ways, like in this edit entitled "Cool Cat" below: Styled by Jonathan Mahaut and shot by Anthony Meyer for Malaysian magazine August Man, Mahaut takes a v-line suspender, and flips it to the front so that V becomes seen, and creates just enough peculiarity that leaves an impression. "The Great Pretender" on Fashionisto

So, the Michael Kors leather jacket is cool, but, for me, it's all about the face mask. I want to wear mine to the office tomorrow--why not? See more of this shoot by Laura Marie Cieplik for Fashionisto story "The Great Pretender" HERE

Assaad Awad in Carbon Copy Magazine

Keep your socks up in style. You know they're there, those studded sock keeps, and how cool if someone gets a little peak at some point during the day--a moment of spiky intrigue. I'm enjoying these shoes and the accompanying sock straps by Assaad Awad: he designs some really creative pieces. Check out his site HERE. This shot was done by Sebastian Troncoso for Carbon Copy. Valentim Quaresma Fall/Winter 2013

I suppose the best way to refer to these pieces by Valentim Quaresma is to call them accessories. What I enjoy most is the idea of bringing the "fetish" into the everyday. I also enjoy the hard and masculine juxtaposed with a soft or ethereal vibe--somewhat regal. I actually have a piece, similar to this first look, that I wear during performances. Great minds. I'm actually a fan of Quaresma's 2011 collection as well. It's more slick, less earthy, and has a solid, yet breakable quality. Definitely check out his website to see what I mean. You can see the rest of Valentim Quaresma's Fall/Winter 2013 collection as shown during Lisbon Fashion Week /ModaLisboa HERE.

NudeMM Fall/Winter 2013

Masahiko Maruyama's NudeMM Fall/Winter 2013 collection offers a great array of shapes and volume, and also a little bit of texture. There is something about the way these pieces rest that help give a sense of character to what might otherwise be dull pieces--but these pieces are not dull at all; there's something hidden in the lines, something understated, yet pretty deep. I get a touch of the nomad, with a touch of the philosopher, and a hint of the Middle East. See for yourself HERE on ThisHeartsOnFire.

Taku for Commons&Sense magazine--Tokyo, Japan

I'm enjoying the "Immaculate Studs" included in this story by the same name: shot by Taku and styled by Tsuyoshi Noguchi for Commons&Sense  man magazine. Commons&Sense brings you style via Tokyo. I need to know where I can find this harness. I enjoy the way it's actually one piece, and connected to the belt (at least that's how it appears). It's a soft S&M vibe--an everyday S&M, if you will. See more of the shoot HERE on Morphosis.

Dior Homme Fall/Winter 2013

Slick. Future. Dior Homme F/W 2013 keeps it simple and slightly militaristic with creative director Kris Van Assche. I enjoy the use of the belt to accentuate the waist; and of course I like the metallic glimmer. Very interesting graphics, too, on several of the pieces. See more HERE on Fashionisto.

Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2013

It's really hard to beat a Burberry coat, particularly the trench. I'm always drawn toward a military form, but I also enjoy the contrast that is made between the classic hues and the animal prints seen on the shoes. I also like the more greatly exaggerated waist on several of the coats Check out more of the Burberry Prorsum F/W 2013 collection from Milan  HERE on Fashionisto.

"Ceremony" styled by Sebastian Machado

Too cool! Can't help but enjoy the Postpunk/NewWave Militant vibe in this spread entitled "Ceremony," styled for Cover Man by Sebastian Machado.

Artis Stamguts F/W 2013 "DNA"

Dress your underwear up just a bit--why not?! I love the embellishment and interest Artis Stamguts adds to his designs. It can be seen in the underwear below. But I also enjoy Stamguts' accessory designs for the same reason. Anyone who can take woven belt straps and create a killer piece is a talent, in my book. Check out the creativity and the rest of the DNA F/W 2013 collection HERE on his site.

"Kings Never Die" in DSECTION MAG

Dress like a prince. I can't help my gravitation toward the regal. I do enjoy the Indian/South Asian Maharaja tilt in this spread--"Kings Never Die"--for Dsection Magazine. This Portuguese publication bills itself as "The first and only Portuguese fashion magazine dedicated entirely and exclusively to men" See the rest of the shots by Nicolas Valois on Morphosis.

Txema Yeste shoots Tony Ward for Antidote magazine

Oh, the bondage! This is almost exactly what I had in mind to wear during my next show. I was thinking a chain, crossed on chest, with flowers through the links: hard meets soft. What a great shot by Txema Yeste for Antidote magazine. The second, Tony Ward lounging. See more of the shoot HERE on Fashionisto

Mark Rabadan for FuckingYoung!

One of my favorite things: being over-the-top. That's exactly what I am enjoying about this spread; Or, rather, the pieces that push it over the edge. Featuring a trio of amazing designers, BodyBound, Martine Rose, and KTZ, photographer Mark Rabadan captures a ton of cool, with styling by Hirohito Egusa  for FuckingYoung! See it  HERE.
I'm enjoying the studded shirt by BodyBound, with its great pattern, the most.
