Who wouldn't want to wear these playful shoes from Alberto Moretti? They are sophisticated, finely-made shoes, but with a touch of masculine whimsy thanks to the camo and even a kiss on the arch of the foot. More from Alberto Moretti s/s 2014 HERE.

AJ Mets Fall 2013: Jacket and Shorts
There is something about this look that just works for me. From AJ Mets Fall 2013 Collection "Imaginary Youth" offers a modern feel, with interesting prints and some bold colors. I enjoy the look, here, because of the color, and the styling (the socks, shoes, with those shorts), but I think the most important aspect of the entire look is the proportions: this is really wonderful, and a feat to pull off due to the fact that you have a jacket matched with a short; the basic white shirt, buttoned all the way, also helps keep the balance. And I enjoy the asymmetry of the jacket; however, my main question is: does it zip. It might be a tight fit if it did, but the illusion--they way the zipper works the eye--is cool, anyway. Assaad Awad in Carbon Copy Magazine
Keep your socks up in style. You know they're there, those studded sock keeps, and how cool if someone gets a little peak at some point during the day--a moment of spiky intrigue. I'm enjoying these shoes and the accompanying sock straps by Assaad Awad: he designs some really creative pieces. Check out his site HERE. This shot was done by Sebastian Troncoso for Carbon Copy. Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013
I am enjoying the metal plates placed over the shoes for the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013 collection runway show. It's also cool how they have placed photos taken by Robert Mapplethorpe onto many of the pieces. Definitely a military/uniform vibe going on, and I like it; I'll join the Mapplethorpe army any day.

Jimmy Choo Men's F/W 2013
Jimmy Choo turns to Punk, to Glam, and to Pop and Street art for the F/W 2013 Men's collection. These shoes get my attention right way. I want to see them worn and styled. But more importantly, I want to go down to my local thrift to purchase an old pair of loafers, and then have a spray paint workshop. I can't look at these shoes and NOT get the DIY bug. Fun w/ fashion by Acne and Shake Appeal
What I enjoy most about these pieces are their playful yet cool qualities. This boot by Acne, the Zweig, is the kind of piece that generates double takes. Many times, a hybrid idea such as this can lose it's charm, but these boots retain style in addition to the utilitarian component (they also come in dark brown).
The shirt by Shake Appeal, as part of their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, says it all; it's a geeky-cheeky. I'm digging the overall look as well.

What's not to enjoy about these colorful slip-on's from Italian label, MSGM ?--fun with an '80's vibe thanks to the three-dimensional graphic.

Inaki Mujika w/ Cristina Fado for Fashionisto

Lasso shoes--Gaspard Tine-Beres--RCA 2012
There is, indeed, something reflexive that might be engendered by making your own shoes--or at least stitching them together. That seems to be what GASPARD TINÉ-BERÈS had in mind with the creation of these Lasso shoes for the Royal Academy of Art's 2012 summer show. I'm enjoying the toe on these utilitarian-minded and crafted slip-ons--put together by the hands of their lucky purchasers.

Kenzo vs Vans sneakers
Kenzo+Vans=Play. Kenzo recently collaborated with Vans, offering their iconic mesh print in a variety of colors and combinations. These are some of my favorites--Ima blue junkie. The Kenzo website is great, btw, and you should check it out. It's very lively, and actually makes me very happy (if that can be said about a website). They also have a fantastically curated blog. Working for Louboutin Has Perks--studded shoes, that is
This is Alpha Sidibe--studio manager at Christian Louboutin--at his apartment in Paris with his collection of shoes designed by his boss. While I am not sure what to make of Louboutin's want of a copyright on the color "red" as it is used on the soles of his famous ladies' heels, I do know I thoroughly enjoy the footwear designer's use of studs on the many kicks in his men's line--as so nicely photographed by Ailine Liefeld on Freunde von Freunden HERE. It seems working in fashion has its perks.

John Galliano: Fall/Winter 2012
John Galliano delivered a very gangster, military, and vintage thrill-seeker inspired Fall/Winter 2012 collection for Paris Fashion Week: in fact, the coats and jackets--along with the high-waisted belted accesorizing--really made the collection. But an interesting piece is his rendition of the tuxedo shirt: embellished with shimmering, emerald and blue jewels--reminds me of Minority Report. The question remains as to whether or not one should tie the bow-tie or leave it hanging for effect. Oh--and the metallic capped footwear is very nice, indeed. Alexis Mabille Fall/Winter 2011-12
What a difference fresh eyes make: looking back on Alexis Mabille's f/w 2011-12 collection, I would actually like to have a pair of these pants. I'm enjoying the lacy tightness here: somewhat like a Victorian punk--a more vibrant goth--but very contemporary. Mabille's S/S 2012 looks are definitely a bit more bare--perhaps by the spring I will be ready to enjoy the skimpy-ness. Until then, see more of the Fall/Winter collection HERE on Morphosis.

Asher Levine w/ AlpineStars
The outlandishly cool footwear is designed by Asher Levine in collaboration with Alpinestars. The kicks were incorporated into the designers F/W 2011 collection which you can see HERE. They are immensely enjoyable--although I would dread scuffing them or hurting someone with them. See more of Levine's fantastical footwear designs HERE.

Christian Louboutin's Rollerboys
These cotton made and tartan covered shoes by Christian Louboutin are kicked up to the next level with the addition of silver spiked studs. Good luck wearing them onto an airplane. They do come at a steep price, but the look is striking--and really gets my creative juices flowing.

Photo by Andreas Ohlund for Cafe
This is a guy who spends lots of time alone--a bit solitary. I enjoy this photo because of its softer side, yet there are dark forces working underneath this pose--defensive yet vulnerable as the wind hits his face. I'm also enjoying the way the coat rests around the sides, and the exposed ankles. Not a pose you see a lot in men's fashion. This was taken by Andreas Öhlund for Café.

Juun J Spring 2012
A futuristic cool--lots of angles and color scales--not to mention some very interesting footwear. This from Juun J for the Korean designer's S/S 2012 collection--one of the more exciting collections this season. I'm also enjoying the use of the bracelets on-wrist. Margiela Pants by Richard Pier Petit
Richard Pier Petit shot Justin Gaston in these great pants by Martin Margiela with a light print/texture to them. See more of the shoot HERE on RPP's site. Just a note on Margiela's site: it has an old school, early internet aesthetic (purposely, of course) so don't be thrown.

Baptiste Giabiconi shot by Matthew Brookes
This look--lacy masculinity--is styled by Christian Stroble. Shot by Matthew Brookes. I enjoy the red lace that is picked up in the shoes, and the shot itself is a subtle cool. Almost a Latin, rock-a-billy cross. See more from the spread HERE on Homotography.

Matthew Lyn--Photography
This is an example of taking feminine design (pants and shoes) and making it masculine. Great styling--I enjoy this shot by Matthew Lyn taken for Schon. See more of the shoot entitled Witch Craft HERE. The headpiece is by Erik Andrew Bergrin--check out more of his stuff HERE.
