Aziz Bekkaoui Fall/Winter 2014

This look is from the Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection by Aziz Bekkaoui. I don't post must about shorts, and in fact the shorts I typically like are quite short, but something about this length I enjoy; the placement of the hem right at the calf is great. Plus, I enjoy the use of lace stockings underneath the look, even on the hands and arms. See more from the collection HERE

Ada + Nik Fall/Winter 2014

From the Ada + Nik Fall/Winter 2014 collection comes this jumpsuit I enjoy: liking the leather sleeves (at shoulder to elbow) and the blocking of the hues of black. The addition of pockcts (zippable) is great as is the, um, useful placement of the main zipper. See more HERE on Homotography.

Libertine Spring/Summer 2014

What I enjoy about the Libertine S/S 2014 collection, and really Libertine in general, is the fact that the pieces and looks are ready for the stage.  I welcome the somewhat propagandist aesthetic seen several of the pieces below, and I think that offering a cultural+political statement on the stage, with which wardrobe can help, is a significant part of artistic expression, of course. And placing the queen's face on garments helps, but anytime text is placed on garments it can  be read in a sociopolitical context. Wear your message. See more of the Libertine S/S 2014 collection HERE.

Frankie Morello S/S 2013

Simply enjoy this jumpsuit by Frankie Morello for his S/S 2013 collection. It reminds me of wearing a giant bandana thanks to the print. The look was shot by Ryan Jerome for Glamaholic Mag. See more of the collection on Morello's site HERE. Frankie Morello does cool, easy, young, and glam pieces. See more of the Italian Summer shoot HERE on Homotography.

Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013

I am enjoying the metal plates placed over the shoes for the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2013 collection runway show. It's also cool how they have placed photos taken by Robert Mapplethorpe onto many of the pieces. Definitely a military/uniform vibe going on, and I like it; I'll join the Mapplethorpe army any day.

Versace Fall/Winter 2013

Donatella and her gladiators are back, but this this time it's a softer edge created for the Versace Fall/Winter 2013 collection. I just can't help but be amused--in a good way--by the outlandish and provocative looks that get sent down the runway during a Versace show. While the functionality of such pieces and looks are minimal, the images provoke very strong ideas--mainly sex; but also glam lux sensibilities. No harm in that. See more of the Versace F/W 2013 collection HERE on Homotography.

"Fascist Fashion" by Joe Lally, styled by Jean Luc Francaise

For all those who might have a leather fetish, this shoot is for you. Styled by Jean Luc Francaise, Joe Lally photographs a leather-clad fascist story entitled "Fascist Fashion." But really, this is a story about leather fetish and those who love the lifestyle--or at least try it on for size every now and then. What I enjoy the most about the shoot is the underwear featuring leather straps with buckles on the sides. If you're gonna do it, go all the way: leather, head-to-toe and below. See more HERE on Homotography.

"Brr Rogers"

All about the hair--hair envy you might say. You see, unfortunately, it's so hard to get such a sharp and edged look with curly hair like mine.
This shoot was done by Steve Marais and Marco Riekstins (Manofthecloth) for Homotography.

Carlo Pignatelli Spring/Summer 2013--500th Post!

This is the 500th post for ViktorMan and I think it fitting that this post features the latest collection from Carlo Pignatelli as presented during Milan's fashion week. The collection speaks to much of what I enjoy when it comes to fashion--decadance, fun, texture, a touch of the exotic (in this case a nod toward South Asian flavors), and a nice glint with a little swagger. I enjoy looks and pieces that present a story--a story I can envision myself within. In the case of Carlo Pignatelli's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, that story fits very nicely within my regal inclinations. Yet, it is done, not in a stuffy way, but with a freshness and virile vitality. I look forward to another 500 inspiring, aspiration-sparking impressionistic moments in men's fashion.

Joe Lally w/ Matthew Ellenberger

Something a bit delicate, but not fully floral: I'm enjoying the leafy, fern-like, print on the underwear in this shot by Joe Lally, styled by Matthew Ellenberger.
Maybe you might wear such a print to get a bit closer to nature.

Rick Day for Coitus--"Dirty Pop"

This is a shoot with lots of fun and lots of colorfully printed underwear and swim wear. Shot by Rick Day for Coitus magazine--it gives me the feeling of a lazy Sunday, lounging comfortably around the apartment manchild style. The story is inspired by POP culture--"Dirty Pop"

The Blonds RTW 2012

The Blonds' RTW 2012 collection--Dye Blond--from NYC. I'm enjoying the glimmer and the use of very intricate prints on the pants--ammo even. Bikers getting sexy and decadent--what's not to love. The necklaces sparkle with a Eurasian or even Persian slant. See more HERE on Homotography or WWD.

Antonio Azzuolo Fall/Winter 2012

My favorite look from Antonio Azzuolo's F/W 2012 show. Mod--but with a French touch (I think it's the hair and glasses). See more of the collection HERE on Homotography.

Tim Coppens Fall/Winter 2012

Belgian designer Tim Coppens shows some interesting shapes and plays on proportions for his latest  collection. There is something going on throughout the collection as a whole that my eye finds intriguing. I'm also enjoying the minor touch of the wrapped hands. See more of the collection HERE on Homotography.

Tiger of Sweden Fall/Winter 2012

This is the ultimate cardigan--not that we will need it in the US this winter (no matter what that groundhog saw) due to the unseasonable warmth. So, just crank the AC and chill in this this woven wonder 'round the house. I'm enjoying the leggings too, by the way. I do prefer the grey.

Rufskin: Sheer collection

James Dean, but in a one piece--for which I am a fan of both. This shot is by Ethan James and features a sheer one piece from Rufskin, for purchase HERE. I enjoy the pairing of two sexy materials in black as well as the vintage feel of the shot. See more of the spread HERE on Homotography.

Christian Lacroix Fall 2012--"Collage"

Perhaps it reads a bit Mormon gone rogue--reinvention of the church: but Mormons are in right now, and I like the exciting acts of color and design that flare up in the Christian Lacroix Fall 2012 "Collage" collection. Watch the video on the Lacroix site HERE. I'm enjoying the simple cross motif as well as the vividness offered by the bright red pants. It's enough to get Joseph Smith revved-up See more of the collection HERE on Homotography.

Alexis Mabille Fall/Winter 2012-13

From Paris Fashion week comes the latest Alexis Mabille collection. Like last year, Mabille has presented one of my favorite collections this season with a nice mix of prints, textures, colors, materials, and attitudes. The Mabille man is a tough dandy type this season. Some of the most interesting pants this season are these from the designer utilizing a quilted-like, scaling,  application in both a softer and much edgier--leather--materials. I enjoy the pointed boots too. See the rest of the collection HERE on Homotography.

Photo by Andreas Ohlund for Cafe

This is a guy who spends lots of time alone--a bit solitary. I enjoy this photo because of its softer side, yet there are dark forces working underneath this pose--defensive yet vulnerable as the wind hits his face. I'm also enjoying the way the coat rests around the sides, and the exposed ankles. Not a pose you see a lot in men's fashion. This was taken by Andreas Öhlund for Café.
