From the Candy runway show in Shibuya, Tokyo come this really great camo coat. I enjoy the closed collar and the fact that it's in grayscale. The show also featured some great masks. Check it all out HERE on TokyoDandy.

Zana Bayne in VAGA Magazine: Collection VI
The work of Zana Bayne, simply put, is sexy. I enjoy her pieces, and have posted on her in the past. The looks below feature pieces from across the designer's handmade collections, including the most recent Collection VI. The first two shots come from VAGA Magazine out of NYC, captured by Nicolas Wagner. You can see more of that shoot HERE from Fashionisto.
Be sure to check out the film by Char Alfonzo.

Bill Cunningham for NYTimes Style
The "peacock is out of his cage" according to Bill Cunningham--offering some education and opinion about some current trends in fashion. I am not particularly fond of the loose shorts and tighter legging and/or pants underneath; nor am I all that crazy about the "bubble" forms. I do enjoy a more streamlined look. However, I am all for self-expression and breaking from standards of conformity, even if that entails looking back to traditional dress of the 1600's: as long as it's a nob back, but with a forward twist. Educate yourself on the street w/ Bill!

Brian Geradts Fall/Winter 2012 via FuckingYoung!
The setting is beautiful, but what I enjoy more about this video, featuring the designs of Brian Geradts, is the long sleeveless jacket and the silver, shimmering pants. The jacket is below: check out the shoulders--the sharp edge is what I'm drawn to most. The pants you can see in the video along with the killer scenery of the Maltese Islands. Check it out below. See it all HERE on FuckingYoung!

Matthew Miller Spring/Summer 2013: CCTV on the Runway
I enjoy the print so much that I decided to post this suit by Matthew Miller for his S/S 2013 collection again--well, in a way. This is the complete suit; I posted just the jacket previously. What I find so cool about the print is that Miller has captured the images he then manipulates for the fabric from closed-circuit tv cams around London. You might as well check out the runway show, too: video below.

Carlo Pignatelli Spring/Summer 2013--500th Post!
This is the 500th post for ViktorMan and I think it fitting that this post features the latest collection from Carlo Pignatelli as presented during Milan's fashion week. The collection speaks to much of what I enjoy when it comes to fashion--decadance, fun, texture, a touch of the exotic (in this case a nod toward South Asian flavors), and a nice glint with a little swagger. I enjoy looks and pieces that present a story--a story I can envision myself within. In the case of Carlo Pignatelli's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, that story fits very nicely within my regal inclinations. Yet, it is done, not in a stuffy way, but with a freshness and virile vitality. I look forward to another 500 inspiring, aspiration-sparking impressionistic moments in men's fashion.
See more of Carlo Pignatelli's S/S 2013 collection HERE on Homotography. Also, be sure to check out the video of the runway presentation below. Enjoy!

Andrea Pompilio Spring/Summer 2013
From Italy comes Andrea Pompilio's S/S 2013 collection. The lines are what I am enjoying most: the way they start in the middle of the shirt (as well as across the back), but are carried down as an unexpected detail on the inside of the pant legs. I love the surprise. The details are even carried down to the slip-on shoes with the hint of color. Check out the video (below) of the Milan show. See more of the collection HERE.

Matthew Miller Spring/Summer 2013
Part of Matthew Miller's S/S 2013 collection are cctv image prints, as seen in the jacket here. This print depicts parts of buildings caught on cctv, but it has a military/camo vibe. In this video, by Santiago Arbelaez for DazedDigital, Miller discusses his idea of "luxury" which is really more about the protection and sustenance of life. Wearing buildings, the places where we dwell, can then be understood as wearing luxury. See more of Miller's latest collection, including pics and video, HERE via British Fashion Council.
And be sure to watch the DazedDigital exclusive video to find out more on Miller's thought process in regards to his designs.

Big Bang--"Monster"
I must admit, I am not into K-pop by any measure. However, this is about the fashion, right? Of course. And I am really enjoying what is going on in this video for BigBang's "Monster." Some inventive hair and make-up as well outlandish wardrobes. I mean, how can you resist a cape? So, while the music may not be everyone's cuppa--though we are said to be on the verge of a K-pop take over!--the K-pop fashion and styling is cool to behold.

WOR--trunks and Video
I"m in a video kinda mood today, I suppose. While the trunks by Warriors of Radness (featuring a rainbow of colors for the GLSA surfers) are cool, what I enjoy even more is the "cheeky" video made to showcase the swimwear--Cruisin' to the Beach Boys.

John Cavanagh 1950's
Going back in time...
John Cavanagh was a British designer whom launched his eponymous label in 1952. This video clip features footage shot around that time of a swimwear show. I'm enjoying several of the looks--particularly the last striped number. But what I find fantastic is the fact that he featured a nail studded belt at the time--never would have thought...in the 50's!...Anyway, enjoy!

Jeremy Scott by Luca Finotti--video
I've watched this video several times without the music--on mute--and am completely taken in. It's so engrossing. Why no music? I guess I figure there is enough going on visually without the added distraction. I just don't think I've seen the use of horizontal edits in such a way--and the colors...It seems to me to be a perfect marriage of image, medium, and edit--ripe for online consumption. Of course, the Jeremy Scott designs give it that extra bit of flavor, but Luca Finotti has really created an eye catching clip with this video.

A "Sprint" in Dior
What I enjoy about this clip--other than the setting along a country road--is that you can sense a different mood for each look: a unique story that corresponds to the image and feel of each outfit that incorporates ideas about why this man is running down the road, who--if anyone/thing is he chasing, where did he come from, why is he there???? New story, new character for each look. The film was done for issue 11 of Hercules Mag.

Six Lee--First Collection 2012
Hong Kong-based designer, Six Lee, offers his first collection--We're All In the Dance. While he may design with the more slender of figures in mind, I do enjoy the uber cropped jackets and the layers. See more of the collection as well as a quick interview with Lee HERE on DazedDigital. Along with the great photos featured on DazedDigital, is the vibrantly crafted video below showcasing the Six Lee 2012 collection--video by Frederik Heyman

Men of Calibre
With so many options out there, brands have to work harder to get their products shown. I'm enjoying Calibre's efforts with their "Man of Calibre" project: guys can submit pics of themselves in their Calibre and be featured on the brand's site. Check out the project in the video below, or see more of the "men of Calibre HERE on their site.

Braille Fall/Winter 2011
I've been enjoying the work from design duo Braille since last year. Their latest collection-Our Damn Hands-keeps the ride going-a balance between a strong, yet slightly vulnerable, masculinity. See the collection in the video below and read about the team in an interview with StyleSalvage HERE.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2011
According to Ann-Sofie Johansson--H&M--and Imran Amed. The video showcases many of the trends according to H&M design. My favorite: the shorted jumpsuit, about halfway mark on the video--or is it a "play suit" according to Johansson?

Nicolas Ripoll in "Mimetic Desire"
Model Nicolas Ripoll is featured in this short film by Jaime Rubiano and Jason Last entitled Mimetic Desire. Fashion+Art. Styling was by Jenke-Ahmed Tailly working with pieces from Dior Homme. I enjoy the film as it gives me the sense of what I sometimes feel as I take in works in a gallery: tension, escape, reflection, feeling of being lost within myself and the work--yet, strangely and acutely aware of the surroundings.

Zana Bayne Leather 2011
Zana Bayne Leather has created some very enjoyable pieces for their S/S 2011 collection. When will it be acceptable to wear these pieces over the suit at the office--I mean, it could really help business, I think. Some of my favorite pieces are pic'ed below. You can also check out the lookbook video Shot by Char Alfonzo and styled by Cameron Cooper.
