The Jean Phillip S/S 2014 collection is quite reptilian with rich, skin-like prints used to construct many of the pieces. The motif is also worked into pebble-looking, gold accents on several pieces. I enjoy the idea--something dark about reptiles, sand, but in contrast to the man wearing the reptilian inspired looks and pieces. See more from Jean Phillip s/s 2014 collection HERE on FuckingYoung!

Tom Rebl Fall/Winter 2013
Tom Rebl takes us on an excursion through a mystical, and smokey, realm of slight whimsy in his Fall/Winter 2013 Lookbook. The Tom Rebl man seems to be a traveler you run into in a dark wood, and you can't tell if you should be scared or happy to have his company. I'm enjoying the prints--both the irregular shapes seen on the black+silver suit as well as the floral number. See more HERE on ThisHeartsOnFire.

Tadas by Rex Leung
Something about the seriously short length of these shorts that I like. But I'm also enjoying the shoulder on the sleeveless jacket. This is a fantastic summer uniform--could even go sans boots, but w/ a little loafer or slip-on. See more of this shoot shot by Rex Leung on Morphosis.

Roberto Cavalli Boots
What's not to love about these boots by Roberto Cavalli? Captured for Fashionisto by Franck Glenisson: these boots shine with a metallic glimmer, and a florescent turquoise color. I enjoy the zipper, the heel that, while black, seems to pop against the metallic shine, and the split upper body of the boot helps give them a bit more dimension--although the color and finish already give them a other-dimensional flavor. Etxeberria Fall/Winter 2013
Etxeberria Fall/Winter 2013: I just enjoy shape, and these pieces, while so straight, offer an interesting sense of movement in form--I believe it is the volume that adds the extra bit of body and vitality to the pieces: a hint of a bell shape; a little curve; crazy folds. The dimpled fold is just cool; you can "feel" it just by looking. It's texture for the touch and the eye. This is giving me nomadic nobility, which stimulates the imagination. And check out the boots. See more HERE of FuckingYoung!

Custo Barcelona Fall/Winter 2013
I always enjoy it when I take a second look at a collection, and see it in better depth and detail. That's what has happened with the latest from Custo Barcelona. I didn't flat out hate the looks and pieces the first time, but it took a while before it clicked. I think such a state might make for a good collection; it takes time to understand really good, and complicated pieces. The pieces in the Custo Barcelona collection are diverse in color, texture, cut, and print--and the prints are wild. Yet when paired together, it all works to deliver an idea: one the is culturally diverse in part, and yet delivers a military essence coupled with classicism. Eclectic. There is something forward-thinking here, and I believe that as the weeks and months pass, I'll grow to enjoy this collection even more so. See it all HERE.

John Richmond F/W 2013
John Richmond has a way for designing cool without trying too hard--as it should be. That's the case with the designer's Fall/Winter 2013 collection. I enjoy the leather accents and the embellishments added to the jackets that give a feeling of strength and intrigue . See more HERE.

Versace Fall/Winter 2013
Donatella and her gladiators are back, but this this time it's a softer edge created for the Versace Fall/Winter 2013 collection. I just can't help but be amused--in a good way--by the outlandish and provocative looks that get sent down the runway during a Versace show. While the functionality of such pieces and looks are minimal, the images provoke very strong ideas--mainly sex; but also glam lux sensibilities. No harm in that. Scott Hoover for FantasticsMag
This is an image shot by Scott Hoover for FantasticsMag. Entitled "Glamour Boy," the story, this shot in particular, reminds me of something one--I--might do on a slow day, hanging around the house: being a bit indulgent, narcissistic, playful. Of course, boots are always great when worn with underwear. And the belt with just a touch of bling makes it even cooler. See more of the shoot HERE on Fantastics Mag.

Lidija Kolovrat Spring/Summer 2013
Lidija Kolovrat is a designer who is not afraid of graphics and strong prints. From Bosnia to Portugal, she is a designer that crosses borders. I'm enjoying the graphics on this suit because it has a haphazard, street graffiti, paint-splotched feel, but crossed with a structure that is almost data gridded--like number sequences. I am also a big fan of the Chelsea boots with the panel of blue. And I never get sick of a jumpsuit. See more of the Lidija Kolovrat S/S 2013 collection on FuckingYoung!

Puma Boots--Tokyo Faces
There's so much I am enjoying about these puma boots as added to the overall look worn by this Tokyoite. First, the way the tongue of the boot pulls over with a (what looks to be) a velcro keep is so smart; it makes it easier to wear the boots without having to worry about the tightness of the pant leg. This gentleman's boots look to be well-worn, but I think it is with good reason: they are cool, versatile, and highly functional.

Sean O'Pry by Michael Schwartz for Black--New Zealand
I enjoy these looks for their urban cowboy, street smart vibe. The first look is all about the accessories: hat, boots, and jewelry. In fact, with exception of the boots, all the accessories are by Patricias: the hat, by Patricia Underwood; jewelry, by Patricia Von Musulin. The shoot was done by Michael Schwartz, capturing Sean O'Pry for New Zealand's Black Magazine. See the rest HERE on Fashionisto

Fun w/ fashion by Acne and Shake Appeal
What I enjoy most about these pieces are their playful yet cool qualities. This boot by Acne, the Zweig, is the kind of piece that generates double takes. Many times, a hybrid idea such as this can lose it's charm, but these boots retain style in addition to the utilitarian component (they also come in dark brown).
The shirt by Shake Appeal, as part of their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, says it all; it's a geeky-cheeky. I'm digging the overall look as well.

"Doheny Drive" by Doug Inglish
Definitely some Brando being channeled in this Beverly Hills/Hollywood entitled set by Doug Inglish for Numero Homme China #5--"Doheny Drive." This is just a great shot with the chain, and a bit of a peek-a-boo shot underneath. See more of the shoot HERE on SissyDude.

Christopher Kane Spring 2013
The first time I say Christopher Kane's Spring 2013 collection I pretty much glanced over it. Perhaps I wasn't in a good mood, or something. Whatever the case, taking a second look recently, I am pleased by the designer's playfulness. In fact, seeing the Chelsea boots made me happier. What would make them even better--above and beyond the vibrant patch of color--would be the option to swap out multiple colors on the boot's side panels. I'm also enjoying the brush strokes used on the button up and tank--you can even find the strokes used on swimming gear. See more of the collection HERE on Style.com with a blurb from Tim Blanks.

Asher Levine Spring/Summer 2013
Cruise is the name given to the latest collection by Asher Levine. And this is my favorite look from his lookbook--very dark antihero. The "hero" effect is created by a piece Levine has designed that is more-or-less an extra-extra-long shirt but with split tails. See more of the lookbook at Levine's site HERE.

Paul Smith Spring/Summer 2013
The Paul Smith Spring/Summer 2013 collection has much to offer including prints and more pastel toned colored suits and jackets--very classic cuts. Two of the pieces I enjoy the most are these biker jackets as paired with these great pants. A great look is seen here with the simple white buttoned shirt set behind the pink and red hues along w/ the boots below (not as keen on the strapped loafer). See more of the collection HERE on Fashionisto.

Strateas-Carlucci Fall/Winter 2012-13
Relatively new label, Strateas.Carlucci, offer a collection entitled Parallels that features aggressively asymmetrical designs as seen in the "diamond" blazer below. I'm enjoying the tails on this piece. This is also a great shot for the label's campaign--echos the ethos. See more of the collection HERE on the label site.

Silver Castaner Boots
I enjoy items that shimmer, and these boots by Castaner do just that. Not only is the metallic sheen pleasant to look at (as it makes quite a statement) but the red socks and coordinated laces help to add another layer of interest. Switching out laces can be a quick but cracking accessorizing maneuver. This pair of boots are worn by Hugo Lavin of Varon Mag.
