Vogue Mexico

This story in Vogue Mexico Hombre is photographed by Alexander Neumann and styled by John Tan. I'm enjoying it for this perfect New Years Jacket--Ring in 2012 with a nice, dark, shimmer. See more of the shoot HERE on Fashionisto.

Something from Lookbook, dec '11

I'm enjoying the look by Alexander here: the boots, bag, and the military jacket especially. The jacket is nice because it is without so much of the adornment that so many military influenced jackets display these days--keep it simple.

Belts and Necklaces in REFLEX

Lots of belts and necklaces in this spread shot by Charly V Real for REFLEX. I do enjoy the simplicity of the necklace as it rests underneath the jacket lapels; and the belt against the jacket always works for me. See more HERE on Fashionisto.

Alexis Mabille Fall/Winter 2011-12

What a difference fresh eyes make: looking back on Alexis Mabille's f/w 2011-12 collection, I would actually like to have a pair of these pants. I'm enjoying the lacy tightness here: somewhat like a Victorian punk--a more vibrant goth--but very contemporary. Mabille's S/S 2012 looks are definitely a bit more bare--perhaps by the spring I will be ready to enjoy the skimpy-ness. Until then, see more of the Fall/Winter collection HERE on Morphosis.

Versace Underwear--H&M

I'm digging the underwear from Versace as part of their collaboration with H&M. These boxer briefs are playfully abstract.
Photos by Troy Wise. See more HERE on Morphosis.

Alani Spring/Summer 2012

Alani is a brand directed by Jae Hwan Kim out of Seoul, Korea. In the past, I have spoken of their "sweatshirts" project. The look here is from the S/S 2012 collection. I'm enjoying how the Bi-colored jacket is mimicked in the shorts. See more of this creatively easy going collection HERE.

Fall as shot by Matteo Felici

Matteo Felici and stylist Umberto Sannino find Fall inspiration. I enjoy the split colored mohair turtle, lost in the leaves. And with the glasses and hair--all I can think about is The Graduate, and the music of S&G. "Hello Silence." I'm enjoying Felici's shots more than anything--perhaps I'm hypnotized by the golden leaves. See more from the shoot HERE on Fashionisto

ZANA BAYNE LEATHER--F/W 2011

I enjoy the creativity of these leather pieces by Zana Bayne. The use of slimmer strips allows for the creation of more intricate design, and breathes more of a fashion forward air into the work as opposed to a heavy fetishist vibe. See more HERE.

Yohan Serfaty S/S 2012

A very romantic pose and feel with the white jacket by Yohan Serfaty for his latest collection entitled Ad Vitam--Making for a romantic life. Nice stache and curls, too. I'm also enjoying the way the long gray coat falls. See more of the collection HERE on This.Hearts.On.Fire.

"Headwear" in Fashion156

Fashion156 dedicates its current issue to Headwear--topping looks off with the perfect hat...or...other...stuff. Whatever you choose: wearing a hat--or rather, something on your head/face region--can make quite the statement. Case in point, this silhouette (and great shot by Fabrice Lachant)  created by the outline of the Laird London hat paired with the cape by Felipe Rojas Llanos.

Unconditional Spring/Summer 2012

Unconditional is a bit of an unconventional brand as demonstrated by the pants below: I enjoy the triangular seam at the crotch and don't find it at all off-putting. I'm also enjoying the accessorizing using the spiked holster--and the slicked hair (not to mention the model's facial accessories). The beaded detail on the lapel of the sleeveless jacket is nice as well.

Angelo Van Mol: S/S 2012

Dazed has an interview with up-and-coming designer, Angelo Van Mol, about his latest collection, the future, and what he looks for, and tries to convey, in menswear design. What I enjoy about these coats is the modern simplicity (if the term isn't an oxymoron): taking a fabric that breathes future-isms (neoprene) and making it look classic, not cheap; youthful and sophisticated. Read the interview and see more of the collection HERE on Dazed Digital.

Miguel Antoinne Spring 2012--"Midnight Safari"

Miguel Antoinne delivers his Spring 2012 collection entitled "Midnight Safari"--these pics are from his lookbook for the collection. What I enjoy about these two looks are the idea: "put a strip across my chest and call it a day."--But really, I do like the black strip as well as how it works with the detail at the shoulder on the coat. Next: the suit. What to say: to have a suit completely done in such a detailed fabric: Decadence. See more of the collection HERE.

Yoshio Kubo S/S 2012: Tokyo Fashion Week

Tokyo Fashion Week just wrapped up, and these two pieces are from the collection Yoshio Kubo showed for the event. I'm enjoying the black-and-white asymmetrically color blocked jacket as well as the coat with its dot--dashes: as if speaking in code. See more HERE on This.Hearts.On.Fire.

A "Sprint" in Dior

What I enjoy about this clip--other than the setting along a country road--is that you can sense a different mood for each look: a unique story that corresponds to the image and feel of each outfit that incorporates ideas about why this man is running down the road, who--if anyone/thing is he chasing, where did he come from, why is he there???? New story, new character for each look. The film was done for issue 11 of Hercules Mag.

Jeroen van Tuyl Fall 2011

As part of the gray and black palate (there are some pops of color, like a nice brilliant blue) of the Jeroen van Tuyl Fall 2011 collection is this "shattered" waistcoat made of leather, but with an onyx-like appearance. It's as if someone went for your gut with a sledgehammer--I'm enjoying it and find it very inspiring. The "shattered" motif finds its way into several of the pattern choices in the collection as well. But it is this piece with its destructive gleam that leaves the greatest impression. See more of the collection HERE on Fashionisto.

Rough and Tough--mask on Fashionisto

I'm enjoying this mask, worn in a shoot for The Fashionisto, shot by Brigitte Vincken.
I like the fact that the mask has a bit of a crown to it. But mostly, the photo itself is intense. Great Shot.  See more of the Rough & Tough shoot HERE on Fashionisto

Bon Abstract Combinations

What I am enjoying most about this editorial are the stellar combinations of print, shape, and texture. Photographed by Andreas E. G. Larsson with styling by Stevie Westgarth for Bon magazine. The red and orange in the first pic (jacket and turtleneck) are thanks to Mugler. The second pic--which I enjoy for its off kilter angle--features Prada color blocking, and J.W. Anderson paisley. See more of the Abstract looks HERE on Fashionisto.

Asher Levine w/ AlpineStars

The outlandishly cool footwear is designed by Asher Levine in collaboration with Alpinestars. The kicks were incorporated into the designers F/W 2011 collection which you can see HERE. They are immensely enjoyable--although I would dread scuffing them or hurting someone with them. See more of Levine's fantastical footwear designs HERE.

from Dorian Magazine

From the pages of Dorian comes this story, shot by Enokae--Heretic. What we find is the use of intense accessories (I'm even enjoying the bowl-cut): necklace--silver and mesh, by Fannie Schiavoni; headpiece by Jaiden rva James. Both fantastic. See more of the shoot HERE on YVY.

a warrior inspired shoot by Fernando Mazza

I'm in the mood for some escape, so why not a fantasy of warrior-like proportions and grandeur. That is the inspiration for this shoot by photographer Fernando Mazza with the help of stylists Mauricio Mariano and Alessandro Lazaro. What I'm enjoying most about the story is the accessories--bountiful. I'm inspired to pursue some bounded and belted decadence--and the chain mesh head piece is killer. See more HERE at Fashionisto.

Christian Louboutin's Rollerboys

These cotton made and tartan covered shoes by Christian Louboutin are kicked up to the next level with the addition of silver spiked studs. Good luck wearing them onto an airplane. They do come at a steep price, but the look is striking--and really gets my creative juices flowing.

Simon Spurr--Spring 2012

Simon Spurr has delivered the most enjoyable collection for New York Fashion Week Spring 2012 that I have seen thus far. What I enjoy is the use of mixed materials--creating a vibrancy--and the color striped pieces. Oh--and I cannot leave out the knee high boots. All together, the stripes, mixed materials, and overall sheen create a very Rock&Roll inspired vibe--just check out the cut on the leather jacket. See more of the collection HERE on Fashionisto.

Brian Lichtenberg in UMag August 2011

Shirley Yu photographs pieces by Brian Lichtenberg of L.A. for the sex issue--August 2011-- of UMag: the feature entitled "Summer Time." I'm a fan of the reflective jacket and enjoy the way Lictenberg brings that glimmer to the simplistic structure of a tank. See more HERE on UMag.

J.W. Anderson LENS coat for Topman

The folks at Fashion156 Want "clean, simple, and minimalist" tailoring at the moment, and they suggest this coat designed by J.W. Anderson for LENS, available at Topman. I agree, and enjoy the detailed use of the blunt silver buttons to add interest. See more Fashion156 Wants HERE

Frankie Morello S/S 2012

I enjoy Italian brand, Frankie Morello, for several reasons: it's fun, youthful, and takes risks. I do wonder about the material used in the making of the biker shorts--and I wonder what it would, indeed, be like to wear them all day...However, the idea of pairing these snug shorts with the blazers and dressier shirts, I do like. See more of the collection HERE.
