Walter Van Beirendonck S/S 2013--jacket

Looking past (if you wanna) the crazy hat and the socks w/ suspenders--which I happen to think are great--is a jacket I am enjoying from Walter Van Beirendonck's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, "Silent Secrets." The vibrant pink lines are eye-catching, but what I like even more is the use of the patch-like overlays that help create texture. Light, lively, and casual possibilities. See more of the collection HERE on FY!

Mugler Spring/Summer 2013

Lots of shorts have made their way down the runways this season, but the Mugler variation is one form of short pants that I enjoy. What I like the most is the way the ultra-short length is countered by the shirttail-like additions that pass through the legs, causing a sharp, angular look at the thigh. The addition even works to conceal the fact that the shorts are present at all (at least at the front). Read more about the collection as explained by designer Nicola Formichetti HERE on DazedDigital. See more of Mugler's shorts and the rest of the 2013 S/S collection HERE on WWD

MSGM sneakers

What's not to enjoy about these colorful slip-on's from Italian label, MSGM ?--fun with an '80's vibe thanks to the three-dimensional graphic.

Andrea Pompilio Spring/Summer 2013

From Italy comes Andrea Pompilio's S/S 2013 collection. The lines are what I am enjoying most: the way they start in the middle of the shirt (as well as across the back), but are carried down as an unexpected detail on the inside of the pant legs. I love the surprise. The details are even carried down to the slip-on shoes with the hint of color. Check out the video (below) of the Milan show. See more of the collection HERE.

Valentino Spring/Summer 2013

For the S/S 2013 collection, Valentino all about the jackets. There's even some camo added to the collection, but what I enjoy the most are the pieces featuring a multi-colored sleeve, with the inner-sleeve reflecting a more earth tone. See more of the collection HERE on FuckingYoung

Inaki Mujika w/ Cristina Fado for Fashionisto

Inaki Mujika captures this look by stylist Cristina Fado for Fashionisto.
shirt by Guess Black, pants by Manuel Bolano, coat and shoes by Selim de Somadevilla
It's all about the colorful stripes on the pants, the collar on the coat, and the bling on the shoes.

Lasso shoes--Gaspard Tine-Beres--RCA 2012

There is, indeed, something reflexive that might be engendered by making your own shoes--or at least stitching them together. That seems to be what GASPARD TINÉ-BERÈS had in mind with the creation of these Lasso shoes for the Royal Academy of Art's 2012 summer show. I'm enjoying the toe on these utilitarian-minded and crafted slip-ons--put together by the hands of their lucky purchasers.

Strateas-Carlucci Fall/Winter 2012-13

Relatively new label, Strateas.Carlucci, offer a collection entitled Parallels that features aggressively asymmetrical designs as seen in the "diamond" blazer below. I'm enjoying the tails on this piece. This is also a great shot for the label's campaign--echos the ethos. See more of the collection HERE on the label site.

Matthew Miller Spring/Summer 2013

Part of Matthew Miller's S/S 2013 collection are cctv image prints, as seen in the jacket here. This print depicts parts of buildings caught on cctv, but it has a military/camo vibe. In this video, by Santiago Arbelaez for DazedDigital, Miller discusses his idea of "luxury" which is really more about the protection and sustenance of life. Wearing buildings, the places where we dwell, can then be understood as wearing luxury. See more of Miller's latest collection, including pics and video, HERE via British Fashion Council.
And be sure to watch the DazedDigital exclusive video to find out more on Miller's thought process in regards to his designs.

Kris Van Assche--Dior Homme Special

Photographed by Bruno Staub for Numero Homme China, is Dior Homme Special by Kris Van Assche. I'm enjoying the hair--slick, but askew; somewhat of a 20's feel. See more of such "special" pieces HERE on FuckingYoung.

Jonathan Saunders S/S 2013

Definitely getting a 60's vibe from this collection by Jonathan Saunders for Spring/Summer 2013--though that isn't such a surprise. What I enjoy the most about this look, besides the stripes, is the hint of blue that comes through around the unadorned, and simple white collar. See more HERE on Fashionisto

A Pragmatic Trip Into The Haunted Forest

From Flaunt comes this story shot by Josh McNey. I'm enjoying the abounding embroidery on the mohair jacket by Dolce&Gabbana. See more HERE on SteelMachines.

Silver Castaner Boots

I enjoy items that shimmer, and these boots by Castaner do just that. Not only is the metallic sheen pleasant to look at (as it makes quite a statement) but the red socks and coordinated laces help to add another layer of interest. Switching out laces can be a quick but cracking accessorizing maneuver. This pair of boots are worn by  Hugo Lavin of Varon Mag

Joe Lally w/ Matthew Ellenberger

Something a bit delicate, but not fully floral: I'm enjoying the leafy, fern-like, print on the underwear in this shot by Joe Lally, styled by Matthew Ellenberger.
Maybe you might wear such a print to get a bit closer to nature.

Big Bang--"Monster"

I must admit, I am not into K-pop by any measure. However, this is about the fashion, right? Of course. And I am really enjoying what is going on in this video for BigBang's "Monster." Some inventive hair and make-up as well outlandish wardrobes. I mean, how can you resist a cape? So, while the music may not be everyone's cuppa--though we are said to be on the verge of a K-pop take over!--the K-pop fashion and styling is cool to behold.

WOR--trunks and Video

I"m in a video kinda mood today, I suppose. While the trunks by Warriors of Radness (featuring a rainbow of colors for the GLSA surfers) are cool, what I enjoy even more is the "cheeky" video made to showcase the swimwear--Cruisin' to the Beach Boys.

Rad Hourani for Joyce Hong Kong

Rad Hourani created a special collection for Joyce Hong Kong. It features select pieces. What I enjoy the most about them are the pops of red available, and the tails and backs of the jackets below. Actually, the red piece is more of a sweater hybrid piece. That's one of the aspects of Hourani's approach I appreciate the most: the transformability and blocking of both color and fabric pieces. See more of the special 5th anniversary collection HERE on Fashionisto.
